5 things to remember when travelling with kids
62
Travelling with your kids can be great fun as long as you are prepared! Here are a few things to help make your vacation travel filled with happy memories.
1. Plan to visit kid-friendly destinations while you are away. Places like a children's museum or the zoo are great fun for the whole family. Choose a kid-friendly hotel with a pool and/or a playplace to stay at. Some hotels even offer a "kids-eat-free" deal which can really save you money. And there are always plenty of playgrounds to stop at for free along the way. These places are perfect for kids AND mom and dad to relax and have fun!
2. Bring lots of travel games and activities for the kids to do in the car or on the plane. Personal gaming systems like the Nintendo DS and a portable DVD player can be a real sanity-saver on long road trips!
3. Bring plenty of snacks and drinks- providing your own can save you a lot of money as well as keeping little tummies full and happy. Keep in mind that most airlines have strict guidelines about what you can and can not bring onto the plane with you.
4. Buy travel medical insurance before you go! You don't want to be caught unprepared if someone gets sick along the way.
5. Don't forget your camera!
Family vacations can be relaxing and fun for everyone with a little planning ahead!

I agree with tip 2. I have some related tips here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Fun-Games-to-Play-On-a-Jou
I was thinking along the same lines recently! Good stuff!
Great tips. Thanks!
I actually love traveling with my kids, I have 4 of them and started flying with them as early as 2 weeks old. It's not been roses however, but live and learn, I'm just glad I did it :) and so are they.

Great tips! I wrote a similar article awhile back but I don't think there are any duplicates so here's the link :)
