A Winter Wonderland – You’ll Need a Passport Renewal for Your Skiing and Snowboarding Trips too!

I was given this excellent advice from my friend Brienne:

During the winter season, beachfront destinations are not the only places people want to venture to. While I am not a ski bunny myself, and find that my snowboarding abilities leave a lot to be desired, there are many people that dream year ‘round of the perfect snowfall. There’s nothing like a crisp winter day to get the heart pumping on the slopes, or at least that’s what I’ve heard.

Here area few things to consider when hitting the slopes this season.

Are you going with Family or Friends?

Many skiing and snowboarding places cater to family, couples, and singles, be aware that the other destinations can be a different story. Consider the people that you are going with. If you are a family, you are perhaps better served by heading off to a place that focuses on families.

This way there are activities day and night that will keep your children entertained, and meeting new friends – perhaps giving you some time to sneak away and have a well deserved break, maybe.

Passport Renewal

It’s all about location, location, location, and chasing that perfect patch of snow – make sure that you have all of the documentation you need so you can reach that ultimate slope. Sometimes, we plan for the worst, and expect the best, but there are always surprises – like an expired passport, right in the middle of skiing and snowboarding season!

Passport renewal services can be administered in a pinch with expedited passports, some starting at as low as $99, and can be ready in just a few days – phew! Get ready to hit the slopes in no time with a passport renewal system that takes half the time of the regular process.

Consider Cost

Sometimes, it’s just more efficient to save your pennies and choose a staycation instead. This is not what many people want to hear, but it can be the smartest way to get a taste for the slopes, without breaking the bank.

Also, choosing to stay close to home for your vacation pours back into your local economy. Ever heard of the saying “buy local”, why not stay local for your next vacation too?

This option is more affordable, because you cut down on travel costs, meaning that you can spend more money on that totally rad snowboard you’ve been eyeing, or that snowsuit that is truly your colour (yes, I think about these things!).

Either way, the winter season isn’t always about a balmy beach experience, for many people, the snowy slopes call their name; don’t let an expired passport stand in your way!
