Valentine's Day gift ideas

Valentine's Day is coming up and I thought I would share a few of my favourite things to get from MY sweetheart! These are all gifts that you don't even need to leave home to get...

1. flowers! A classic gift- I am always happy to get flowers from my honey. Flowers are so easy to get- even without ever leaving home!

2. books. I am a total book-a-holic and I realize not everyone is... but for some of us there is just nothing better than curling up with a good book.

3. a magazine subscription. My hubby knows that I would love to travel someday so a travel magazine is perfect for me- but there are a million magazine options out there so there is bound to be one for your sweetheart. I got him a photography magazine and he loved it.

4. tickets to a concert/ movie/ theatre production of some sort. This is another classic but for many of us moms we don't get to dress up and head out for a night on the town very often so this is a very special gift.

5. music. My husband has gotten me a few iTunes gift cards in the past and I LOVE them!

Be creative- one of the sweetest gifts my husband got for me was a "tropical" theme. We live in a very cold climate and I was longing for summer sun so he picked up a magazine about sunny destinations, tropical flowers, and a tropical snack of juice and yogurt, fruit and pastries. It wasn't too expensive but it showed wonderful thought and I loved it.

Whatever you do don't just ignore Valentine's Day- we women need to know we are loved!
